How to Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in ConnectFood

This article will walk you through how to create Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).


1. Navigate to the SOP builder.  

Click "Operations">> "Procedures".  



2. Create Procedure (SOP) 


A. Click "Add Procedure

Select from a list of types which automatically are associated with the Log/Record keeping forms.  


Here is a list of a few of the type of SOP templates available:  

  • Allergen Label
  • Food Time & Temp
  • Curing Chamber
  • Employee Illness/Injury
  • Employee Training
  • Procedure Pass or Fail
  • Specification
  • pH Meter Calibration
  • Temperature
  • Thermometer Calibration
  • Product Water Activity


B. Select A Procedure Template (optional)

ConnectFood has a library of pre-written procedures.  Please NOTE: The SOPs in the ConnectFood Library are meant as examples to save time and serve as guidelines, they are not to serve as an organization's final SOPs 'out of the box'.  


3. Procedure (SOP) Reports 

To print your list of SOPs, go to "Reports".  The click Standard Operating Procedure - "View Report".  

 

4. Applying Procedures (SOPs) to Preventive Controls and Critical Controls 

For Preventive Control and HACCP plans, the option exists to associate your SOPs to the Controls of your Hazards.  In the "Edit Hazard" form, after creating a Control, you have the option to either "Add New Procedure" or "Attach Existing Procedure".
